Teardrop Tutorial

The Teardrop Technique creates a single large teardrop design inside the soap. It was created by Jui-Ping Candy Chou of Sweetly Sweetly Sweetly in Taiwan. The video she posted in January 2016 generated interest from many soapmakers and was the focus of our challenge in May of that year. Since it’s a design that is hidden until you cut into the soap, I spent considerable time researching some of the issues we faced the first time around and added extra tips to help drive success.
You will be expected to have experience with cold-process soapmaking as well as complete understanding of the correct handling and usage of lye/sodium hydroxide before proceeding.

Skills You Will Practice: Controlling trace, pouring soap with both hands at the same time
